Gujarat government employees will get big gifts, know how much retirement age? Learn Details
Ahmedabad: The BJP government has started efforts to please people of different classes because the BJP's seats in the assembly elections are not repeated in Lok Sabha elections. As part of this, the government is considering giving a big gift to government employees in Gujarat. The state government is considering to increase the retirement age limit of government employees from 58 years to 60 years.
The decision will be taken at the Cabinet meeting scheduled next week, BJP sources said. The state government has started preparations to implement this decision. All employees of the state had been asked to increase the retirement age limit of government employees from 58 years to 60 years.
In the budget session of the Legislative Assembly, the state government has also taken steps to increase the retirement age of employees to 60 years in the context of the extension of retention by retired majority legislators and for the submission of outsourcing or contract recruitment.
Keeping in view the upcoming assembly elections by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, it has been decided to increase the retirement age limit of all government employees from 60 years to 62 years. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced to increase the age limit as every employee is not getting the benefit of promotion during his service. In the context of the Gandhinagar Secretariat's staff, once again the voice of demand for raising the age limits with new hope has increased.
After the retirement of the various staff and Congress party in the elections held before the Gujarat assembly four months ago, a demand was made to stop the recruitment of extension and outsourcing or contracts.
The silence of the BJP on power became audible in the recently concluded assembly session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. In the debate on the demands of various departments from the general budget, the MLAs did not give a positive answer to the government when they had demonstrated extensively to stop the recruitment of extension and outsourcing or contracts after retirement.
However, with the announcement of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP government of Gujarat is also considering this matter seriously. Because, in Gandhinagar, senior officials are retiring in large numbers in the state in two years, including the Secretariat. As such, with the rapid recruitment of these vacancies, the option of experienced personnel will have to control recruitment from outsourcers.
The decision to increase the age limit as an alternative to recruitment of vacancies in government departments can also prove to be financially beneficial for the government. Therefore, the decision to increase the age limit with the new recruitment of government employees is also likely to be done in Gujarat.
